Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the development of Latin paleography from the early modern period to the sexond half of the 20th century, specifically with the changes of the Neo-Gothic and Humanist scripts in this period, and to provide them with theoretical and practical knowledge for reading and interpreting texts written in these scripts, especially in Neo-Gothic German cursive.
The student will gain an overview of the development of Latin script in the modern period (both humanist and neo-Gothic); be able to read texts written in German neo-Gothic cursive at a basic level; and acquire an understanding of the methods by which this level can be furtherdeveloped and improved.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the basics of Latin, good knowledge of German language.
