Learning outcomes |
In this course, students will be introduced to a basic overview of the auxiliary sciences of history, including basic methodological background, recommended readings, and the history of each discipline. The aim is to introduce them to this corpus as a whole and to explain their close intedependence and pplicability to historiographical work. Nine disciplines that are traditionally perceived in Czech historiography as part of this corpus (paleography, diploamcy, spgragistics, heraldry, codicology, epigraphy, genealogy, historical chronology and metrology) will be presented in turn.
The student knows the basic overview of the auxiliary sciences of history, including the basic methodological background, recommended literature and history of individual disciplines. The student understands the corpus as a whole and can explain the cloe interrelationship of the disciplines and their applicability to historiographical work. |
