Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the complex theoretical and methodological basis of records management, key concepts, basic methods, current problems and issues, and major trends in the field of document management and records management, and, by extension, archiving as a whole, taking into account the fact that archival care for records already stored in archives cannot be separated from the management of "live" documents by the creators of the documents. For this reason, the subject covers both the area of archival care of "historical" documents and the sphere of management of currently created documents, records management, and so-called pre-archival care, especially for public originators. Last but not least, the subject will also touch on the area of electronic documents and electronic document management. It will introduce the principles of electronic file management and the integration of electronic documents into everyday office work, and thus also document management. Emphasis will be placed on the basic legal framework and set of legislative requirements relating to document management and file management. Students will be introduced to other important legislative regulations, including European standards (eIDAS, GDPR, and others).
Students from the previous course, Management of Documents I., gained a basic overview of file management and document administration as a whole. from the previous course, Management of Documents II, they gained the ability to perform tasks in the field of electronic file management and document administration, and in the final course, File Management III, they will gain the ability to process personal data in documents and archives as required by Czech and European legislation. They will be able to implement personal data protection in the performance of file service and document management for originators in public administration and the private sector. They will be able to set up mechanisms and manage access to information, documents, and archives within the organization with regard to all legal requirements. They will gain a detailed overview of the European GDPR regulation and will be able to implement measures within the framework of European regulations and Czech legislation required for data minimization.
