Course content
The subject is a follow-up subject of Current trends in linguistics. It expands students´ knowledge of linguistic issues and modern linguistic research.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide students with basis of theoretical approaches in linguistics. These cover structuralism, generative grammar, function and cognitive linguistics and quantitative linguistics. The subject also covers scientific issues of modern times and the historical overview of linguistics.
The student proves knowledge and skills in the fields of differentiating stylistics and applies grammar categories in their appropriate terms and aspects. The course involves practical examples.
The student has successfully passed all partial linguistic exams.
