Course content
1. Presentation of the studied subject, faculty and university, professional career. 2.The structure of the university, faculty, academic year and its parts, system of studies (course, content, credit system, structure of the university, thesis, finals). 3. Description of the given subject, its studies, practice. 4. Work with special text (annotation, resume of a special text). 5. Special topic 1, presentation skills. 6.Special topic 2, reading of special authentic texts. 7. Composition of formal correspondence (CV, work application). 8. Special topic 3, professional discussion. 9. Special topic 4, academic listening. 10. Special topic 5, past tenses. 11. Special topic 6, expressing future. 12. Special topic 7, academic writing. 13. Special topic 8. 14. Final test.

Learning outcomes
The German language program for Magister degree studies is focused on acquisition of language for academic purposes. It is supposed reaching B2 level according to the Common European Language Framework. The course is focused on text reading with following text analysis connected with a discussion in given language. During the course is extended vocabulary concerning political philosophy. A part of the course is a translation of special texts together with grammar consolidation, needed for reading in the given language.
Ability to read special texts in the field of their specialisation, ability to communicate in basic professional situations and ability to present and write in the given specialisation.
Prerequisites
Level B1 according to Common European Language Framework.

Assessment methods and criteria

Test and exam which includes an introduction of students´ field of study and translation of an academic text related to their discipline, active participation in seminars, presentation.
