Learning outcomes
|
Based on the current development of didactic of history or school history, the subject deepens the theoretical knowledge of students and at the same time allows them to acquire practical skills in various activities necessary for teaching history, especially in practical workshops, which are aimed at preparing and implementing model hours. The student gains an overview of basic concepts, techniques, methods of didactic of history not only from the Czech environment. Teaching allows to become acquainted with practical outputs used in Czech schools. Teaching is also carried out within observations at individual school facilities. Key topics are concepts of critical thinking, historical literacy and research oriented teaching.
The student: 1.Demonstrates the ability to conduct didactic analysis with respect to a selected didactic unit. 2.Is able to create didactized sources of various types. 3.Develops communication skills and is able to moderate discussions. 4.Is capable of creating teaching figures (learning aids/diagrams). 5.Is able to organize teaching figures within broader teaching units.

Prerequisites
|
The course builds upon the subject: History Didactics I ? KHI/KMU11 The course is conducted in cooperation with the subjects: Interdisciplinary Relations of History II ? KHI/KMU21 Continuous Teaching Practice at the Secondary Level of Elementary School ? KHI/KMU22 The students are capable of using basic technological skills in computer work.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

The student creates a portfolio of key outputs related to a pre-determined, chosen, and defended thematic unit. This portfolio is defended in a student colloquium conducted within the Moodle platform. Upon successful defense, the student takes an oral exam, which in its first part is based on both theoretical and practical reflections on the portfolio. The second part of the exam tests the student?s ability to discuss issues related to history teaching.
