Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the real school environment, to introduce them to current issues in history teaching as well as modern educational technologies. A collection of DVD recordings of educational programs is used both for projection and subsequent analysis and evaluation by the students, as well as for inspiration in creating independent student projects on teaching topics. An integral part of the teaching is cooperation with the organization People in Need ? One World in Schools, primarily through projects such as Crisis Areas of the World, Stories of Injustice, and the Holocaust. Students become acquainted with the project programs (documentary films, discussions with experts, eyewitnesses, and workers from international missions). Manuals and methodological guides are made available to them, containing not only film synopses but also instructions on how to work with the documents, references to related information, and suggestions for possible questions and tasks. They also learn about recommended accompanying activities, proposals for simulation games, worksheets, and other materials.
