Course content
1.What are the demands placed on ethically acting teachers of social science subjects? 2.What questions must teachers of social science subjects ask themselves? 3.How to address ethical issues related to teaching social science subjects and current social and political topics? 4.How to support critical thinking and open discussion without marginalizing or discriminating against certain opinions? 5.How to work with one?s self-concept as an ethically acting teacher and conduct self-reflection on one?s pedagogical work, including reflecting on feedback from colleagues or students? 6.What elements can be included in the professional self-concept of a social science teacher (pedagogical goals, professional values and beliefs, pedagogical approach, professional identity, reflection, and self-reflection)? 7.How to cope with burnout syndrome and take care of one?s mental health and psychohygiene? ? Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to enable students to actively reflect on and identify their self-concept as an ethically acting social science teacher, their professional potential, their ability to cooperate with other teachers and students. Through the methods of experiential pedagogy, they will acquire some of the procedures for caring for their own psychohygiene and mental health.
