1. English at the primary level - a great opportunity 2. How children learn a foreign language - when and how to start English 3. English for teaching - the teacher's language competence 4. Language of instruction (classroom language) 5. Climate and organization of work in the language classroom 6. Language competence and speaking skills 7. Developing receptive and productive speaking skills 8. Effective procedures - a selection of methods and procedures for teaching English 9. Inclusion of playfulness, dramatic, motor, musical, artistic and other elements in the teaching of English 10. Content and language integrated learning in primary school 11. Searching for suitable resources and working with them effectively 12. Creation of support materials and aids and effective work with them

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students in English language with the essential contemporary principles of effective teaching English to children of primary school. This subject is complementary to the subject CJP/4098 English through play.
Before entering the course, English must be mastered at a good level enabling the study of professional texts, listening and videos, their presentation, comments and verbalization of one's own attitudes and professional experiences.
Prerequisites
Exam in advanced language passed. Language command at level B2 at minimum. For the part-time students in the year 4 and 5 who have a sufficient command of English to be able to use it in teaching at the primary level.

1. Students will independently study relevant texts, audio and video materials and will be able to share basic ideas and respond to them by verbalizing their attitudes and professional experiences - in English. 2. Students will be able to independently search for relevant English written/spoken resources on individual topics, comment on them and share them with others. 3. Students will be able to describe their proven or problematic practices from practice in English.
