Course content
1 Physical and network addressing, types of domains, mask VLSM. 2 Routing, routing methods, hierarchical system, types of protocols. 3 Algorithm distance vector protocol RIP (E) IGRP. State algorithm connections, OSPF. 4 External routing protocols, BGP protocol, aggregation routes. 5 Fundamentals of wireless networks, their separation, the nature and types of electromagnetic radiation. 6 Methods of multiple access, transmission method. 7 IrDA: Technology, standards, specifications, protocols, data transfer methods. 8 Bluetooth: Standards, profiles, architecture protocols. 9 Bluetooth: Layers, addressing channels packets. 10 Wi-Fi: The development, standards, modulation techniques, channels, bandwidth. 11 Wi-Fi: Network topology, access points, components, antenna systems. 12 Wi-MAX Technology, network structure, signal propagation model. 13 Other wireless technology - cutting, technology usage.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit: 70% attendance at seminars, successful independent practical task. Exam: Student selects 3 questions that students will have min. 15 minutes individual preparation. If the next question will be thematically fit into the same area, a new question will be selected. Responses will be evaluated from A 1-3 final mark of the exam, then their overall evaluation. If the student does not answer any question at all, the test will be considered a failure.
