Learning outcomes
Smart city/region/community is an entity that uses different types of electronic data collection sensors to supply information which is used to manage assets and resources efficiently. This includes data collected from citizens, devices, and assets that is processed and analysed to monitor and manage traffic and transportation systems, power plants, water supply networks, waste management, law enforcement, information systems, schools, libraries, hospitals, and other community services. The course Smart City will introduce recent development and findings related to this concept including outputs of the research team of the UJEP. This will be complemented by case studies from various cities and regions which present Smart solutions for present problems of public space. The course will be based on an interdisciplinary approach.
