Learning outcomes |
The course is intended for students who attend the first year of the university as a continuation of the course Introduction to physics (Úvod do fyziky). This calculus-based course focuses on the atomic structure of matter and the interaction that matter undergoes. Main goal of this course is to introduce a small number of basic fundamental principles that underlie the behavior of matter, and that using these principles it is possible to construct models that can explain and predict a wide variety of physical phenomena - from classical as well as relativistic motion to specific heat capacity of a solid (this first semester of the fully two semester course is mainly about mechanics and thermodynamics and molecular physics).
