Learning outcomes

The aim of this subject is to create a knowledge base for understanding of the important ecological functions in the landscape, which forms the theoretical presumption for practical activity in the landscape, more accurate and responsible decision-making in various areas of human activity. The subject explains the spatial structure of the landscape, the relations between their individual components, the functioning and the changes over time. In the practical part of the exercises, the students will deal with the various ways of assessing of the landscape stability, the valuation of ecosystem services, the assessing of changes in the cultural landscape, etc. In the semester project students will suggested local ÚSES (Land system of ecological stability) of the selected area according to the methodology and map its land use. In the course will be two block-designed excursions.
