Each of the topics usually involves 1 week of theoretical preparation and 1 week of practical laboratory experiment. Topics: 1) Good laboratory practice - Safety rules and regulations 2) Light and Fluorescent Microscopy 3) Confocal microscopy 4) Electron microscopy SEM 5) Electron Microscopy TEM 6) AFM

Learning outcomes
This specialised course will provide the students with a hands-on-experience in various microscopy techniques and instrumentation. The students will learn the basic hardware/software working principles as well as different sample preparation methods. Emphasis will be laid on the design and planning of experimental work, documentation, critical evaluation including qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results, as well as laboratory safety aspects.
