Course content |
The Course is divided in 3 lecture blocks. Knowledge from the Course of General Zoology and Physiology of Animals and Man is necessary Block 1: Response of cells and their organelles to various types of stress and damage. Intracellular spreading of stress and damage. Defense and repair mechanisms of cells. Cell death. Alterations of cell cycle and tumor transformation of cells. Examples of inherited and acquired moleculopathies. Block 2: Damage of the tissues. The main types of tissue reaction to functional load and harmfull factors. Hypertrophy, hyperplasy, dystrophy, atrophy etc., their reasons and cellular and molecular mechanisms. Inflamation and healing processes. Storage disease. Degenerative changes in tissues and organs and their morphological and functional consequences. Block 3: Prevention of damage of cells by proper nutrition and healthy life style
