The course, in a theoretical row, opens a question above the purpose and benefits of visual art and art education in a sector of general education. Students look at the art creation in a wider context of visual culture, they expand their knowledge in a field of visual studies and they think of various possibilities of their theoretical reflection in the content of the subject - Art Education. Students learn particular strategies of artwork presentation and its role in the interpretation. They are acquainted with the method of VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) as a method of dialogue above the visual art work leading to a development of critical thinking, visual literacy and communication competences, and they reflect the possibilities of its application in the art lessons. The course is interdisciplinary, it mediates the professional competences from the field of interdisciplinary co-operation and it perceives the art education in a context of an intercultural education.
