The purpose of this course is to teach students to perceive and reflect the world throughout the medium of painting. The course basis is a development of creativity and the individual creative skills in a realization of an art work, a development of crafts and technical skills, a development of the ability to interpret a creative performance and understand the basics of the colour theory. Students acquire the competence to communicate in the medium of painting using the expressive media across the spectrum of modern and contemporary world. The students work on temporal tasks and etudes which motives arise from the actual topics in contemporary cultural and social happening. A seminar work is a larger autonomic project in which the students apply their knowledge and skills acquired in the course. The students work on their art and art-pedagogic projects in which they focus on a reflection of context and searching the most appropriate forms of expressions when making the seminar work. Presentations and the lectures of invited artists and also visits to galleries in the Czech Republic and in abroad, the self-education of an art-history of painting in the 20th century and meeting the creation of the chosen artists through the form of student's reports are also parts of the course. The students give a proper commentary on their seminar project (counsel).
