The assisting pedagogic practice focuses on pedagogic work with children at lower-secondary school and secondary school. The purpose of this course is to co-operate with a teacher in a direct educational activity not only with pupils with specific educational needs, but also to help the pupils to communicate with their classmates and their teachers. Other included activities are for example: Helping the teacher with preparation for a lesson, working with tools, preparing school experiments etc. The student will participate in supporting the individuals and groups during the educational process and preparing for a class. The student will take 20 hours of practice at fully organized primary or secondary school. At the beginning of the practice, the student will sit in on four inspectional classes and the active lessons in a subject of the studied program will follow. The classes are analyzed. The student will write a pedagogic diary which they submit to the field lecturer when they finish the assisting practice. The framework of the practice, the number of inspected lessons and outputs (practice portfolio + mentor's rating of the practices), is set by CCP.
