Subject content: - Introduction to environmental education, ecology and the environment - World Wildlife and Environment Strategy - International conferences and associations for environmental protection, organisations, treaties - Global environmental problems - air pollution, greenhouse effect, disturbance of the protective layers of the atmosphere - Global environmental problems - water pollution, water resources - Global environmental challenges - natural resources, energy, transport, waste - Global environmental challenges - protecting ecosystems and biodiversity, basing landscape ecology - The state of the environment and nature conservation in the Czech Republic - Olympic Games and environment - Resolutions at world conferences, IOC and WOC approach, aspects, philosophy - Relationship between sport and the environment - Impact of polluted air and aquatic environments on performance in sport - Water and sport, air and sport - aspects, impacts, issues, trends - The ecology of urban life, trends, new technologies and their environmental impact - Basic principles of environmental protection in physical education and sport

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarise students with the issues of conservation and the environment locally and globally, and to contribute to an understanding of the close links between exercise activities and the environment in both a closer and wider context. Another objective of the subject is to familiarise students with the possibilities of influencing the environment by treating natural resources sparingly and using them as alternatives to physical education and sport. Seminars and stand-alone preparation will be geared towards independent creative activities of students, who should thus acquire the necessary skills in the field. The main content of the workshops is an analysis of the critical points of individual individual individual preparation by students. The course also aims to introduce students to and adequately analyse basic literature on the issues of ecology and environmental education.
After graduating from the subject, the student will gain an insight into the basic concepts of ecology. The student will also gain insight into the potential for interactive impact of sports events, humans and the environment. The student will become familiar with the possibility of using disturbed or degraded landscapes for sporting purposes. The student can determine the potential negative effect of specific sporting events on the natural environment. Subsequently, students can apply the acquired knowledge at a theoretical and practical level in the future educational and educational process.
Prerequisites
Basic ecological knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in the teaching, the processing of a given task and the handing over of a seminar at an agreed date. The issue of the assignment from the seminar may be discussed in the exam.
