Course content

Lectures: Regeneration - basic concepts, stress reactions, fatigue Pedagogical and psychological means of regeneration Biological and pharmacological means of regeneration Principles of rational nutrition - nutrition and appropriate form of sports, nutrition and health of athletes. Nutrition and athletic performance - diet before exercise, diet during exercise, diet in regeneration Vitamins, minerals, trace elements. Supplements, adaptogens Drinking regime of athletes - water management, fluids before, during and after sports performance, composition of suitable sports drink The history of the use of supporting materials, social aspects of doping. Doping substances and methods. Influence of exercise performed. Doping groups. Doping methods, the health aspects of drug use, prevention and repression in the fight against doping. The health consequences of various classes of doping substances. Panel discussion, consultation. The seminars and practical exercises: Compensation exercises. Releasing exercises. Stretching exercises. Yoga - static exercises. Yoga - Dynamic exercises. Massage techniques. Hydrotherapy and medical means of regeneration.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the study-unit is to familiarize students with the principles of good nutrition and drinking regime athletes and improve knowledge about doping, including the various forms of preventive action. The content of the course is to acquaint students with food and drinking regime, as important factors necessary sports forms, their use prior to surgery and during sports activities, their impact on the regeneration of the body and the current knowledge of the use of certain supplements and adaptogens. In addition, the student will be familiar with the effects of doping substances and methods, possibilities of health risks and procedures necessary for the prevention of doping.
By the end of the study-unit student will be able to explain the basic theoretical knowledge with the issue of regeneration, sports nutrition, and doping and anti-doping education policy. Practical skills are focused on the topics of: - Compensation exercises - Yoga - asanas - Massage techniques - Hydrotherapy and medical resources regeneration
