The creation of the ancient Olympics and its position in Hellening Greece. 3. The golden age of ancient Olympics. Roman influence, Extinction of Olympic games. 4. Antic philosophy and olympionic movement. 5. Physical culture in European Middle Ages, Renaissance, Humanism and early capitalism, the accumulation of Olympic ideas in Europe. 6. Antic philosophy and olympionic movement. 7. Modern and postmodern philosophy and Olympic movement, sport ethics. 8. Pierre de Coubertin his personality, thoughts and ideas leading to the restoration of the Olympic tradition. 9. Olympic symbolism and charter and its philosophical and ethical overlap. 10. History of Olympic movement before the First World War and the interwar period, performances and function of the International Olympic Committee. 11. History of Olympic movement after the Second World War. Key periods, sport performances, functions of the International Olympic Committee and other authorities. 12. Czechoslovak and Czech Olympic Committee, National sport teams, celebrities and Olympic organizations. 13. Issues of contemporary Olympic movement, commercialization of sport, doping, ethical dimension, fair-play. 14. Political influence and economic influences in Olympic movement.

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the founding ideas of the modern Olympic movement, the historical and philosophical aspects of its formation and development, major events, development icebreaker and personalities that contributed to this. It will also provide students the tools to work with a wide variety of written and electronic documents to the issue of the relationship.
In the end of the study-unit student will be able to: - Be familiar with philosophical foundations of Olympic movement. - Capture the impact of general history and history of physical culture on the development and current state of Olympic movement. - Know celebrities, especially from Czech republic, who had a major impact on formation of Olympic movement. - Use philosophical and historical sources of knowledge, process them synthetically and present the results of his work to wider plenum.
