Výstupy z učení
The course focuses on career education and career guidance in the context of contemporary changes in the world of work and their significance for the prevention of early school leaving. It is based on European and national concepts, strategies, and research findings that reflect changing understandings of career development, the importance of lifelong learning, and the need to develop career competences already during compulsory education. Attention is paid to early school leaving as a long-term and complex process influenced by individual, family, school, and broader social factors. The course focuses on the identification of pupils at risk of school failure, principles of individualised support, and the use of career guidance as a key preventive tool. An important part of the course is the introduction of concrete career guidance tools, the process of transition planning, and examples of good practice from the Czech Republic and other European countries. The course links theoretical foundations with their application in school, counselling, and socio-pedagogical practice.
Learning Outcomes After successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - explain contemporary concepts of career development and their relation to social and labour market changes; - describe the role of career education and career guidance within lifelong learning; - characterise early school leaving and analyse its main causes and consequences; - identify risk factors leading to early school leaving at the level of the individual, family, and school; - apply basic principles of career guidance when working with pupils at risk of school failure; - propose basic measures of individualised support, including the use of transition plans; - evaluate the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in the prevention of early school leaving.
