Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to broaden and deepen the knowledge of basic topics of giftedness with a focus on natural sciences in childhood. We build on the educational content of a number of psychological and pedagogical disciplines of the Master's program with the aim of linking theoretical knowledge about talent with pedagogical practice. In the subject, talent is conceived as an optimal relationship between the individual's possibilities on the one hand and the conditions of the social and social environment in which the child grows up on the other. Therefore, the subject emphasizes personal developmental and social cultural approach to talent. Personality-developmental approach is based on humanistic psychology and reflects the questioning of the psychometric tradition in the issue of talent. The cultural and social approach to talent and the determinants of talent development accentuate environmental impacts and are based on the cultural roots of this phenomenon. The main axis of the course is the following topics: models of talents - searching for gifted - developing talent with a focus on natural science. In this course, we apply the theory of MI H. Gardner to the school practice of primary education and ideas about science intelligence as a relatively independent kind of talent.
