Course content
Contents of lectures and seminars 1) Emotions function of emotions in our lives. 2) Intelligence, its impact on the development and activity of the individual. 3) Emotional Intelligence - concept, history. 4) Development of emotional intelligence in the context of ontogeny. 5) Family and emotional intelligence. 6) EQ versus IQ. 7) Knowledge of own emotions. 8) Dealing with your own emotions. 9) Methods and techniques for working with emotions. 10) Self-motivation. 11) Empathy. 12) The art of interpersonal relationships and the possibilities of developing emotional intelligence. 13) The importance of social skills in practice. 14) Social skills and their development.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on emotions, emotional intelligence, self-esteem and social skills. It provides a basic overview of the theoretical and cognitive approaches in working with emotions and social skills. The focus of the theoretical and practical part of the course is emotional intelligence, its determinants, development and possible application in practice.
Students can describe the individual components of emotional intelligence, suggesting the possibility of the development of emotional intelligence with regard to the age and personality of the individual potential. Can identify and verbalize their desires, motivations and emotions. Performs a characteristic of social skills.

Introduction to Psychology, ontogenetic psychology.

Successful accomplishment of the first subjects: 1.Introduction to Psychology, ontogenetic psychology I. 2.Written selected second processing tasks of learning support (WEDLICHOVÁ, I. Emotional Intelligence. Ústí n. L: PF UJEP, 2011). 3.80% active participation in the classroom. 4.Oral or written verification of knowledge.
