Learning outcomes
The content of the study is to acquaint and explain to students the issue of social and legal protection of children as it is legally secured in the Czech Republic. Within 2-hour blocks consisting of lectures, in which the content will be theoretically discussed and seminars, where theoretical knowledge will be applied in practical examples, students will get acquainted with the basic concepts in the field of social and legal protection of children. This represents ensuring the child's right to life, its favorable development, parental care and family life, the child's identity, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, education, employment, and includes protecting the child from any physical or mental violence, neglect, abuse or exploitation. The student will gain information about the protection of a wide range of rights and legitimate interests of the child, which are regulated in different branches of law and in legislation of different legal force. Based on the analysis of the basic charters of children's rights, he knows the projection of legal regulations in the field of family law, social, school, health, tax, civil law, criminal, etc., and the resulting range of entities that implement social and legal protection of children. It will be acquainted with the obligations and rights of individual institutions, the responsibility of juveniles and minors for illegal actions and the possibilities of their punishment will be defined, including the conduct of criminal proceedings and court proceedings. An integral part of the portfolio of information obtained will be the area of ??crime prevention and the area of ??family law, especially the relations between family members, their relationships and obligations. He will also gain knowledge in the field of alternative family care and differences in the provision of social and legal protection in selected countries in Europe and the world.
After completing the course, the student will acquire basic competencies to understand the provision of social and legal issues protection of children in the Czech Republic. The student will understand the rights and obligations of individual institutions providing social and legal protection, especially in terms of the responsibilities of schools and school facilities. The student will get acquainted with the responsibilities of adolescents and minors for offenses, with the possibility of resolving their offenses, including criminal justice and the conduct of criminal proceedings. Students will acquire basic knowledge about some institutes of family law, especially in the forms of alternative family care and parental responsibility. They will be familiar with the legal and social protection of children, gain detailed knowledge of family relationships, maintenance obligations, legal representation of children, alternative family care, and especially the social and legal protection of children and the obligations of school facilities in the field of social and legal protection children.
