Course content
1. Introduction to the subject, acquaintance with goals and content, with basic and recommended literature. Students will be informed of credit requirements and principles of presentation of seminar work. 2. Speech therapy in education (speech therapy as a scientific discipline, the place of speech therapy in the system of sciences, the historical context of care for people with communication disorders). Organization of speech therapy care. 4. Ontogenetic development of speech, stages of speech development and conditions of correct speech development. 5. Types of impaired communication skills. Symptomatic speech disorders. 6. - 8. Speech therapy prevention in preschool age. Activities for the development of individual areas of speech. 9. Excursion to preschool facilities for children with speech disorders. 10. - 13. Presentation and evaluation of students' seminar papers.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information on speech therapy issues in relation to the possibilities of use in pedagogical practice and competencies of preschool teachers in regular and special kindergarten in the field of speech development and communication skills in preschool children. The course will pay attention to the conditions of speech development, ontogenetic development of speech, pathology of speech development, basic information about communication disorders, their etiology and symptomatology, the specifics of educational work with preschool children with communication disorders. The content will also include practical activities related to the development of speech and communication skills of the above children.

Student characterizes the ontogenetic development of speech of a preschool child, names the optimal conditions of speech development, manages basic information about communication disorders, their etiology and symptomatology, applies theoretical knowledge to school practice, can prepare appropriate activities for developing speech skills and communication skills of preschool children . He manages to justify their choice.
