The course presupposes continuous reading of compulsory literature (selected books of children's literature) in connection with the discussed issues of literature intended for children of preschool age. The content of the discipline is represented by basic information on literary types and genres that are related to the development of children's literature in the past and present. Attention is paid to leading authors (and their books) from the diachronic and synchronous aspects, who create and continuously expand the collection of classical children's literature.
