Course content
1. Introduction to the study, course content, exam requirements, study literature. 2. Control of the organism, human nervous system. 3. Hormonal control of the human body. 4. Human senses. 5. Digestive system, specifics of childhood. 6. Human excretory and genital system. 7. Human support system. 8. Muscular system, types of muscle. 9. Heart, blood vessels, vascular circulation. 10. Blood and immunity. 11. Human respiratory system, skin. 12. Ontogenetic development before birth and after birth with emphasis on the period of childhood. 13. Biorhythms and daily routine of a preschool child.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills in the field of somatology as a basis for forming positive attitudes of future teachers to their own health, fellow citizens' health and lifestyle choices and as a starting point for studying other disciplines in the curriculum. The content of the course forms the basis of human anatomy and physiology, emphasis is placed on the characteristics of individual organ systems with regard to the specifics of the child's body.
The student describes the basic principles of anatomy and physiology of human organ systems and explains their specifics in the context of childhood. Orients in the issue of ontogenetic development of man. Describes the anatomy of the human body on models and corresponding illustrations.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in the seminar to the appropriate extent defined by UJEP regulations. Successful completion of the credit test and elaboration of a semester work.
