Course content
1. Public speech and its preparation. Rhetoric in terms of diachronic and synchronous. Requirements for public speech. 2. Contemporary Czech and language culture. Literacy and illiteracy. Institutional language and speech education. 3. Standard and codification. Codification manuals. 4. Language culture and language accuracy. 5. Literacy and sophistication of public communication. 6. Basic concepts. Steady forms of continuous speech modulation - word stress, sentence stress, emphasis, sentence intonation. 7. Voice. 8. Pace of speech and distribution of pauses. 9. Body language. 10. Means and principles used to practice a significant presentation. 11. Specific means of spoken expression in pedagogical practice. 12. Character, preparation and practice of continuous speech. 13. Realization of spoken speech and expressive lecture.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of language communication in the environment and culture of speech in terms of the needs of their professional practice. Students become more deeply acquainted with the basic concepts, the sound side of continuous speech, ie the correct division of speech and modulations. Attention is also paid to the contemporary Czech language, literacy and illiteracy, language culture, norm and codification. The aim of the seminars is practical practice of spoken expressions (prepared and unprepared) based on theoretical knowledge, cultivation of students' spoken expression, creating a habit of self-control and conscious correction of deficiencies in expression, application of correct speech habits in pedagogical practice with emphasis on presentation, spoken speech technique with strong pronunciation and the appropriate use of prosodic means of speech. Through model exercises, students learn to use sound, morphological, lexical, syntactic and stylistic means suitable in specific communications (genre different) of monological and dialogical nature, learn to evaluate their own speeches and speeches of others and assess the suitability / unsuitability of language means used.
Student: - can describe, explain and evaluate the basic areas of the issue, - knows concepts related to contemporary Czech and language culture, - lists the basic characteristics of public speech, - justify and analyze specific features of communication, - assess the suitability of the communication, - can use sound, morphological, lexical, syntactic and stylistic means, - can express himself clearly, clearly, intelligibly and in a cultured way.

Active participation in seminars, presentation at a seminar (spoken speech prepared and unprepared, lecture - poetry, prose), orientation in professional literature according to the recommended list, study according to study support (available at https://moodle.pf.ujep.cz/) and processing of selected tasks listed in it.
