The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of Czech language and communication in the Czech environment, ie to point out the function of Czech as a mother tongue in interpersonal communication and its internal hierarchy in the sense of language as a system. Students get acquainted with basic linguistic concepts, with the general characteristics of Czech and its specific features, with the concept of the national language and with its stratification. Special attention is paid to the issue of contemporary functionally and communicatively oriented stylistics in order to orient students in the linguistic and communicative situation of contemporary Czech, assess the use of various departments and sociolectes in terms of functionality, deepen, expand and systematize knowledge about language phenomena, develop skills to consciously apply them in the process of analysis of the construction and style of specific language expressions in terms of professional orientation of students.
