Learning outcomes |
The course aims to familiarize students with the methodology of research work of quantitative nature, the basic principles of statistical thinking, methods of mathematical statistics and their applications in educational research. Students will learn about the story of a statistically stable patterns of random experiments, the most important applications of probabilistic models and methods of transferring information from a sub-sample to the population. Understand the principles of basic and advanced statistical methods and learn how to correctly interpret the results of statistical calculations. It assumed mastering advanced statistical software. Attention is focused on point and interval estimates of parameters of probability distributions, hypothesis testing on the basic parameters of the distribution, some important nonparametric tests, linear regression, correlation of random variables, analysis of variance and selected methods of multivariate data analysis.
