The course builds on the educational content of a number of pedagogical disciplines (general didactics, history of pedagogy, general didactics, subject didactics) of the master's study with the aim to interconnect theoretical knowledge of these disciplines and thus strengthen the pedagogical, scientific and didactic competences of students. Learning outcomes of the course unit The course presents a comprehensive view of the development of paradigms of science education, including related teaching concepts. The student is acquainted with current trends (in the Czech Republic and abroad) in the direction of science education towards a multidisciplinary paradigm, which must necessarily be based on the integration of knowledge and approaches of various scientific disciplines. Students are led to understand the relationships between paradigm changes and related changes in teaching strategies, teaching forms (field teaching,?) and teaching methods (observation, measurement, experimentation) to better reflect pupils' needs (individualization of teaching, learning styles) and increase their internal motivation to study science. The course leads students to acquire the ability to analyze and critically evaluate didactic professional studies. The individual topics we focus on are: Stages of science education development and their significant features Reflection of current trends in science education and critical analysis of these approaches, Analysis of curricular trends in selected countries Identification of key topics of didactic discourse Objectives of science education with a focus on primary science Presentation and communication of educational content in primary school Specifics of teaching pupils subjects about nature and society in primary school Environmental aspects of primary science Current research problems of didactics of science
