Course goal: To develop practical experience and skills in choral singing with a focus on working with children?s choirs. The course introduces voice production and vocal hygiene, voice grouping and children?s voice specifics, and provides training through breathing, vocal, articulation and psychosomatic voice exercises. Students also learn to select appropriate repertoire and to adapt/arrange folk and art songs, spirituals and selected classical pieces for children?s choir, with direct applicability to teaching practice. A practice-oriented seminar focused on breath, voice and healthy vocal technique. Students gain fundamental knowledge of the vocal apparatus and correct voice use (posture, breath support, tone onset, registers), including specifics of children?s voices and choir leadership. The course covers repertoire selection and basic work with homophonic and polyphonic choral scores and arrangements for children?s choir, culminating in practical performance outputs and fulfillment of course-credit requirements.
