Course content
1. Personal and public health and its determinants. Holistic-interaction model of health as a basis for health promotion at school. 2. Lifestyle. Negative social phenomena and lifestyle. The role of a kindergarten teacher in the primary prevention of negative social phenomena. 3. Health education, history of health education in the Czech lands, components of health education. 4. Health promotion projects at European, national and regional level. 5. Formal and informal curriculum of health promotion in kindergarten, principles of health promotion in kindergarten. Educational area "Child and his body" in FEP PV. 6. Social and legal propaedeutics. The most important documents in the field of human rights and freedoms. 7. The child's immune system and hygienic principles on the threshold of the 3rd millennium (physical and mental hygiene, current views on the care of children's teeth, skin, senses). 8. Activating methods of acquainting children with the structure and functions of the human body and creating the need for movement and hardening in children. 9. Problems of healthy nutrition. Nutritional ingredients. Rational nutrition. Alternative ways of nutrition. 10. Cooperation between family and school in the field of health education. The role of a kindergarten teacher in working with children at risk of social environment (abused, mistreated and neglected child). 11. The responsibility of the kindergarten teacher for the health and safety of the entrusted children. 12. Prevention of injuries in the environment of kindergarten, first aid. 13. Teaching evaluation, credit test.

Learning outcomes
The content of the course is based on the WHO program "Health for the 21st Century and the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education. Emphasis is placed on the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases in childhood and the possibility of eliminating harmful components from the current lifestyle of preschool children. principles of a healthy lifestyle with emphasis on the role of the kindergarten teacher and its possibilities.
The student presents a selected topic at a seminar, actively discusses it. The student creates positive attitudes in children to their own health and supports the health of children at school by ensuring an optimal material environment, psychosocial environment. He orients himself in the basic principles of a healthy lifestyle, can provide first aid and is able to make the right decisions in crisis situations related to the protection of the population.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in the seminar to the appropriate extent defined by UJEP regulations. Successful completion of the credit test and elaboration of a semester work.
