Course content
1. Selected aspects of technical education in kindergarten. The concept of technology. Techniques and technologies of practical activities, division and classification. The role of the product in technical education and support of children's relationship to technology. 2. Shearing, cutting, sawing, grinding and other selected technologies of material division. Cutters. Paper folding, simple paper puzzles, Japanese paper and origami. Principles of work safety with tools and materials. 3. Extrusion and other possibilities of metal shaping. Extruded metal foil, its use and processing techniques, tools and implements for working with metal. Extruded decoration from metal materials. 4. Work with small wood material, cutting and shearing of veneer, sanding and surface treatment of veneers. 5. Techniques of work with flat woven and non-woven fabrics and with foam rubber - moosgummi. Separation of textiles and plastics. Shearing and cutting of flat semi-finished products. Possibilities of gluing textiles and foam rubber. Toy made of textile and foam rubber. 6. Techniques of work with length textiles. Cutting length fabrics. Basic nodes, their purpose and principles of binding. Macrame. Frivolites and principles of crochet, knitting and bobbin. Textile decoration. 7. Modeling techniques. Basic techniques of forming thermosetting thermoplastics - Fimo, Cernit, etc. Mosaic technique. Mass extrusion - principles of using extruder and rollers. Techniques for processing supplementary materials to modeling materials. Curing of plastic modeling materials. Production of plastic jewelry. 8. Resistance cutting of foam and extruded polystyrene. Cutting of flat and rounded surfaces, shape cutting, production of models and templates, polystyrene as a material for the production of final products, production of teaching aids. 9. Casting. Casting processing technology. Creation of models for casting, technology of model forming and mold casting, vacuuming of mold and casting, alternative use of soap mass for castings, coloring and aromatization of casting materials. Production of own soap. 10. Pressing. Model creation and its preparation for pressing, technology of vacuum pressing of flat plastic semi-finished products, processing of moldings and their coloring. Production of masks. 11. Adhesives. Basic principles of bonding materials. Cohesion and adhesion. Classification of adhesives. Suitability of adhesives for individual types of materials. Hygiene of work with adhesives and glues suitable for use in kindergarten. 12. Technology of surface treatment. Grinding of materials. Transparent and topcoats. Glazes and polishes. Surface treatment of materials in terms of their health safety and suitability for use in kindergarten. 13. A set of work ideas for the production of toys and teaching aids in preschool facilities. Design and implementation of your own product using the technique and technology of the subject. Evaluation of student's practical activities.

Learning outcomes
The compulsory elective course Technical Creative Workshop enables students to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of techniques and technologies of practical activities with a technical focus in a practical form. It focuses on modern and less common techniques and technologies with significant potential for application in the entire education system, including kindergartens. The course consolidates and significantly expands the knowledge and skills acquired in the course of technical creative activity.
Student is able to apply the acquired knowledge of technology in their own practical activities, masters selected techniques and technologies and is able to use them to create a toy or teaching aid. The student demonstrates creativity in selecting appropriate work topics, taking into account the age peculiarities and abilities of pupils. The student is able to design, lead and evaluate technical education in kindergarten. The student masters selected techniques and technologies. The student recognizes the types of technical materials and has an overview of their use in kindergarten.

The prerequisite is passing the subject Technical Creative Activities.

1. Active participation in seminars (80%). 2. Submission of four practical seminar papers - products. 3. Elaboration and submission of a semester project - design of the original product, toy or teaching aid.
