Course content
Basic information about the history of the field, the ENT areas, the most common diseases and their treatment. Introduction to voice and speech. Fundamentals of anatomy of ear, nose, neck. Investigation and imaging methods in ENT. General ORL. Special ENT. Traumatology in ENT. Fundamentals of phoniatry in ENT. Interdisciplinary cooperation in ENT. Topographic anatomy in ENT. Investigation methods and imaging methods in ENT - practical demonstrations. Outpatient care in ENT. Operations in ENT. Acute conditions in ENT. Otology, rhinology, laryngology.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to develop students' knowledge, abilities and skills for basic orientation in the field of ENT and phoniatry. Students will be acquainted with the diagnostic procedures in the field, the concrete impacts on the individual and the subsequent potential remedy. The special part of the course will deepen students' awareness of the basics of phoniatry. At the same time, they will become acquainted with specific cases with the phases of screening and imaging methods in the field of ENT.
Students are able to focus on ENT and phoniatry. They acquire the necessary information from anatomy and are able to apply them to specific case reports. In these case studies, the student is also able to evaluate awareness in the field of examination and imaging. At least to the extent that he is able to assess the impact of these activities on a particular individual, on his psychosocial settings. The student is able to assess the impact of the application of ORL methods on the personality of the individual and to create compensatory pedagogical procedures to improve his / her experience and behavior. The student can also assess and set up a suitable form of cooperation between ENT and phoniatry specialist with parent and school. They will become familiar with phoniatrics as an extension of the ENT field, which deals with speech, speech and hearing disorders
