Course content
1) Introduction - introduction to the seminar program, recommended literature, system of work in seminars and requirements for completion of the subject. 2) Czech lands in prehistory. 3) The arrival and life of the old Slavs. 4) Czech countries in 10-12. century. 5) Czech kings 13-14. century. 6) Hussitism and its consequences. 7) Pre-mountain times. 8) Long-distance mountain. 9) Czech lands in the second half of the 19th century. 10) The origin of Czechoslovakia. 11) 20th and 30s of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia. 12) Occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1938-1945. 13) Czechoslovakia in 1945-1989. 14) Completion and evaluation of the course.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the most important milestones of political and cultural life in Czech history. Neither will the effects of European events, the view of regional development, the analysis of selected contemporary documents, or the comparison of the specific Czech environment (economic and national) with other selected European states. The curriculum focuses on key issues and problems of older and modern Czech history and the role of important personalities of this time. Further attention will be paid to the importance and position of the Church in the development of the Czech state, the influence of the reform movements in the Church on the development in the Czech state and the significance of Hussitism in the wider internal and international political contexts. In the field of economic history, emphasis is placed on explaining the changes in agriculture and crafts, on the issue of settlement development (colonization) in relation to the overall economic development and on the analysis of the character of the medieval city.
The student is oriented in the history of our countries, together with the information about the key figures of their respective stages. Can understand historical and cultural contexts in the context of historical events and thinking. The historical, social and cultural link of Czech history is understood by the student in the context of the history of the neighboring European states. The student also controls a sufficient range of motivational, exposure, fixation and evaluation procedures, creating opportunities for application learned in practical situations. It creates the prerequisites for successful communication with those who are interested in this issue.
