Course content
1. Ecosystem concepts of nature science teaching, basic ecological, biological and geographic concepts. 2. Life on Earth, Cell and Cell Theory. 3. Trees of moderate belt. General characteristics, development and structure. 4. Primary treeless as an ecological and conservation problem. 5. Meadow ecosystems. 6. Water and surrounding water. 7. Field ecosystem yesterday and today. 8. Human settlements and their surroundings as a specific type of ecosystem. 9. Mushrooms and mushroom organisms. 10. Sinice, algae. 11. Bryophytes and ferrets. 12. Plants. 13. Invertebrates. 14. Obratlovci.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical preparation of students for the teaching of science and geography and implementation of environmental education. The course combines a classical taxonomic concept and an ecosystem approach that emphasizes the links within the landscape and the individual relationships between the elements of living and inanimate nature. The model biological organisms and ecosystems represented in the Czech Republic are accented with accent of their potential threat. Students are acquainted with the system of organisms and their development.
Student will be able to characterize individual ecosystems of the Czech Republic, their specifics and the interrelation of their components. Describe basic cycles of nature. Describes and characterizes the basic model organisms in these ecosystems. It will be able to recognize common representatives of fauna and flora of the Czech Republic. It is oriented in the system of organisms, understands its development and can present basic features of individual groups on the model organism.

Assessment methods and criteria

In the individual work the student characterizes the particular selected ecosystem in the vicinity of his / her place of residence, taking into account his / her complexity and the relations between his / her elements with an emphasis on possible use in teaching. The results will be delivered in the form of a seminar paper in electronic form to the teacher who will perform the check.
