Course content
1. Introduction to subject study, acquaintance with objectives and content, with recommended and expanding literature. Requirements for the exam and the assignment of the seminar paper. 2. Beginnings of Education and Education in Antiquity I. 3. The beginnings of education and education in antiquity II. 4. Education in the Middle Ages and on the threshold of modern times. 5. J. Komensky. 6. Pedagogical thinking in the 17th and 18th centuries I. 7. Pedagogical thinking in the 17th and 18th centuries II. 8. Pedagogy of the 19th century I. 9. Pedagogy of the 19th Century II. 10. Pedagogical Directions of the 20th Century I. 11. Pedagogical Directions of the 20th Century II. 12. Modern Czech school and pedagogy. 13. Test. 14. Completion and assessment of the course.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to create an overview of the development of pedagogical theories, depending on the philosophical, social, political and historical circumstances of the given historical development. The student will be led to be able to critically inspect individual concepts of pedagogical personalities. The subject of study The history of pedagogy is understood in this context as a complex subject in which it is a holistic understanding of the general relations of the educational and educational process. The history of pedagogy is based on the general knowledge of Czech and European history. Students will be encouraged to realize that educational content, forms and methods are based on the general historical, political and social circumstances of the time. The historical development of human education thus serves as an essential basis for understanding the complex relationship of other pedagogical disciplines.
The student characterizes the individual and social importance of education, clarifies the concept of education and education for the 21st century, taking into account the historical development, knows and can characterize the most important personalities and historical milestones in the development of pedagogical thinking and their up-to-date for today's society and society. The student also controls a sufficient range of motivational, exposure, fixation and evaluation procedures, creating opportunities for application learned in practical situations. It creates the prerequisites for successful communication with those who are interested in this issue.
