Course content
|
1. Introduction - acquaintance with the curriculum, with recommended literature and requirements for completion of the subject, assignment of the seminar paper. Provision of health care for a child in the Czech Republic, basics of social pediatrics, specific problems of abused, abused and neglected children, problems of drug addiction in children. 2. Growth and development of a healthy baby, examination of developmental maturity, nutrition, daily regimen in individual ages, congenital developmental defects. 3. Basics of clinical examination in pediatrics, preventive examinations, history, importance of differential diagnosis, analysis of the most important symptoms of the disease. 4. First aid and acute conditions in childhood. 5. Disease of the digestive system. 6. Diseases of the respiratory system and their prevention. 7. Diseases of the circulatory system, blood disorders. 8. Renal and urinary tract diseases, endocrine diseases - Diabetes mellitus. 9. Locomotor diseases. 10. Diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. 11. Skin diseases. 12. Allergic diseases. 13. Infectious diseases of childhood. 14. Evaluation of seminar work, completion of teaching.

Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquaint the students with the basics of pediatrics, which will enable them to better focus on childhood diseases, which they will encounter most often in their practice. Emphasis is placed on understanding the principles of healthy lifestyle and preventative measures that can prevent or delay the onset of illness, or that can at least improve the course of treatment and limit the development of complications. The course focuses mainly on common practice, on the diseases that students can encounter in their work.
Learning outcomes: Field skills - student is able to basic orientation in differential diagnosis of childhood diseases - the student is able to correctly and efficiently respond to acute conditions in childhood Field knowledge - student characterizes the basic concepts associated with childhood illnesses. - the student recognizes the difficulties of the child and can suggest further procedures - the student is focused on preventive measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases - the student is able to prevent the acute situations in the children's team

Assessment methods and criteria

Develop and submit a seminar paper by the deadline. Assignment of the seminar paper: to prepare a case study of a child with a chronic illness - subject in agreement with the teacher. Seminar work (minimum 2 pages A4, Word, font size 12) on the subject with the teacher at the first lesson, presentation of his work in front of the audience in the schedule according to the schedule. Exam requirements: Exam circuits correspond to the individual topics in the subject matter and the topics discussed in the seminars Exam circuits correspond to individual topics in subject matter and topics discussed during contact education.
