Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course enables students to focus on basic and the most serious environmental problems. The first part focuses on the global problems of mankind, their classification, causes and theoretical possibilities of remedy. They draw attention to their interdependence and interdependence. Part two focuses on local environmental issues and its link to already-known global issues. Great emphasis is placed on topicality and opinion pluralism, which is emphasized in student case studies. The subject also mediates the problems of nature and landscape conservation. An important part of the subject is also the theory and practice of environmental education at elementary school.
The student will be able to characterize the basic abiotic components of the environment and their threats, to describe the basic principles of the main global problems of today (demographic problem, climate change, ozone threat, reduction of biodiversity), to explain the impacts of major global problems on the local level of the Czech Republic, its basic principles. He / she will focus on environmental education at elementary school. In cooperation with other students, it is able to carry out the research by means of a case study on a local or regional environmental theme and presents the results accordingly.

Assessment methods and criteria

In a group of 3 to 5 students, the research will be carried out in the form of a case study focused on local or regional environmental issues. The thesis will offer concrete and realistic solutions to the problem and have a standard structure of the case study. The defense of the work will take place during the seminar.
