Course content
1. The subject of psychopathology and its basic categories 2. Mechanism of origin and development of psychic deviations 3. Disorders of individual functions and their influence on behaviour 4. Organic mental disorders 5. Psychological and behavioural disorders are caused by the effects of psychoactive substances. 6. Schizophrenia 7. Affective disorders 8. Neurotic and anxious disorders 9. Adult personality and behavioural disorders 10. Mental retardation 11. - 12. Mental development disorders 12. Mental behaviour and emotional disorders usually originate in childhood or adolescence.

Learning outcomes
During the course of study of special psychiatry and psychopathology, listeners will be familiarized with the classification and symptomatology of the selected psychological and behavioural disorders. They gain an overview of the etiology of individual disorders, of the symptoms that are typical for them, and of the possibilities for treatment and therapy. Basic knowledge in the area of psychopathology from previous studies is expected, because individual disorders will be discussed in relation to their consequences for an individual, for the surrounding environment, to adaptation difficulties, and difficulties connected to an individual's successful participation.
During the course of study, listeners will gain an overview of the causes, origins, and symptoms of the main types of mental and behavioural disorders. They gain an overview of the consequences related to social participation, and of the main objectives and possibilities of specialists and helping professions from the therapy perspective, and overall help and support.
