Learning outcomes
This course is focused on the aspect of interculturality - the result of a fusion of thoughts in the areas of social and cultural anthropology, moral philosophy, and (clinical, social, intercultural) psychology. Students will be familiar with the basic issues of this problem. As a part of social and cultural anthropology, students will be dealing with ethnocentrism, cultural relativism, the difference between multiculturalism and interculturality, and also with stereotypes and prejudices (rules of prejudice, theory of prejudice origin, function of prejudice in a society, etc.). In the context of a moral philosophy, various moral approaches that an individual use during an evaluation (consequentialist vs. categorical moral reasoning), will be accented. As a part of psychological knowledge, this course deals mainly with the errors that occur during perception (subjective source of errors), with causal attribution, inappropriate generalization, etc. coming from intuitive evaluation (opposed to the use of critical/logic/statistical ways of thinking). General knowledge of interculturality will be narrowed down primarily to an educational context. Basic specifics of education and upbringing in the context of the obligatory curricular documents (cross-sectional topics) with an accent on multicultural education will be defined as a part of this course as well. Students will be familiarized with the current state of the Czech education system in the area of intercultural thoughts and ideas implementation that entered everyday educational reality with the Czech RVP (Framework Education Programme). The subject and goal of multicultural education and basic didactic elements will be defined, according to which future teachers and other personal work. Students will be informed about the integration of multicultural education into common tuition - the goal is to improve the attitudes and value orientations of pupils, so the focus is on affective goals. The goal of this course is to make listeners critically think about the "common/normal" ways of thinking/feeling/acting, and how it is possible to develop this style of thought process with pupils and clients.
