The goal of this subject is to introduce its students to the subject of social pedagogy as a scientific discipline and to familiarize them with the goals, methods, and means used by this discipline. Special attention will be dedicated to the research into the relations between upbringing and the environment. Students gain elementary knowledge about the social dimension in the process of upbringing and education. This corresponds with the theme of the content of this subject, which is focused on discovering the factors influencing the process of socialization and gaining the ability to exert its positive influence, discovering various types of social environment, prevention, diagnostics, and correction of sometimes occurring pathologies of these environments, social and educative communication, multiculturalism, creating a positive social class climate, and problematics of social exclusion, among other relevant topics.
