Learning outcomes
During the course of study, listeners will be familiarized with the problematics of selected phenomena that serve as a source and cause of adaptation difficulties among the selected population groups. Adaptation difficulties are connected mainly with the difficulties in job participation, meaning finding the required means of social self-realization. Special attention will be dedicated to causes and impacts that influence the required adaptation from the selected individual or group perspective. Listeners will become familiar with the issue of chronic unemployment and its impact on the mental state of an individual. Furthermore, listeners will gain an insight into the issues connected with the development of somatic diseases and lasting medical complications, and the development of mental disorders and diseases. All of these then reflect on unfavourable social complications, mainly with family and close ones. Information about the possible support and help will also be shared.
Listeners will gain theoretical knowledge required to work in the areas of prevention, diagnostics, and prognosis of adaptation difficulties, work difficulties, and difficulties with overall social participation. They gain knowledge and information needed to work with individuals affected by problems with self-realization and overall adaptation throughout support, counselling, development, and overall care.
