Learning outcomes
During the course of the study, students will be familiarized with the problematics of the selected phenomena, which are a source and cause of adaptation difficulties among the selected population group (also with some selected individuals). Attention will be focused on both causes and consequences that affect the selected groups and individuals from the required adaptation point of view. Listeners will be familiarized with the various situations that can occur with various probabilities in a normal life. These situations have some (e.g.) psychically negative influence on the development of somatic illnesses and long-term medical disabilities, or psychic disorders and diseases. These problems then reflect the adaptation difficulties in a society. This subject will provide information not only about the social consequences of living with these difficulties, but also about the possible support and help.
Listeners will gain theoretical knowledge required to work in the area of prevention, diagnostics, and prognosis of the adaptational difficulties and difficulties in the area of social participation. They will gain knowledge and information required to work with the individual with self-realization and overall adaptation problems within the system of social support, counselling, development, and overall care.
