Learning outcomes
This subject is designated for students in the bachelor study programme. The Basics of pedagogy serves as a preclinical discipline in which students become familiar with the definition of pedagogy as a science, the basic paradigm in education, and terminology connected with this discipline. Other areas that will be covered as a part of this subject are basic methodology approaches in education, factors and agents active in the upbringing of an individual, school systems worldwide and in the CZ, overview of alternative school and reform systems, modern education theories and innovative trends in education and upbringing, and pedeutology
Students explain the differences in education here, in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Students describe the specifics of education (pedagogy) when compared to other scientific disciplines, justify the existence and the establishment of education as a science and are familiar with the differences in various schools and approaches to this scientific branch. Students are also able to discuss the existence of social inequality in our society, analyse the features and functions of the organisations focused on education in our society, apply various theories to the most discussed problems of the current society. Students comment on the problems of a society from the education point of view and are able to differentiate the qualitative and quantitative methods of research in education. Students also define the basic terminology connected with education, understand the influence of an environment on an individual and are able to briefly characterize the mutual effects of a society and the upbringing on an individual.
