Learning outcomes
Pedagogical propaedeutic is a subject meant for students in bachelor study programmes focused on education and upbringing. By this subject, students are able to familiarize themselves with the basics of education and upbringing on the very first level of their university preparation. Pedagogical propaedeutic serves as a preclinical discipline, in which students are familiarized with the definition of pedagogy as a science, basic paradigm and the required terminology. Other areas, covered in this subject, are basic methodological approaches in pedagogy, factors in education, school systems worldwide and in CZ, overview of the alternative school and reform systems, current education theories and innovative trends in education, pedeutology.
Students explain the differences in education here, in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Students describe the specifics of education (pedagogy) when compared to other scientific disciplines, justify the existence and the establishment of education as a science and are familiar with the differences in various schools and approaches to this scientific branch. Students are also able to discuss the existence of social inequality in our society, analyse the features and functions of the organisations focused on education in our society, apply various theories to the most discussed problems of the current society. Students comment on the problems of a society from the education point of view and are able to differentiate the qualitative and quantitative methods of research in education. Students also define the basic terminology connected with education, understand the influence of an environment on an individual and are able to briefly characterize the mutual effects of a society and the upbringing on an individual.
