1. Periodization of the history of Czech music - historical division of the development of society, culture and art, music. 2. Czech music in the Middle Ages. 3. Czech music in the Renaissance period. 4. Czech music in the Baroque period. 5. Czech music in the period of classicism. 6. Czech music in the period of early romanticism - the pre-Smetana period.

Learning outcomes
|
The content of the course is a basic overview of the development of Czech music from the Middle Ages to the pre-Smetana period against the background of social and cultural events. The interpretation presupposes knowledge of the development of European music and places the domestic situation in the European context. The historical overview includes basic information on the development of historically dominant musical forms and genres and the creation and activities of important personalities of Czech musical culture.
The student is able to explain the developmental patterns of musical styles and their conditionality by given social conditions (philosophy, religion, social classes), has theoretical and practical - listening experience with music of older historical periods, understands the importance and main contribution of the most important Czech composers and the specificity of their musical rumor.
