Course content
The aim is to develop acquired skills in timing technique in basic and compound time signatures of quarter, eighth and half time and to apply them in the timing of folk songs in two- to four-part arrangements for various types of choirs. Timing of selected choral compositions in polyphonic arrangement. Vocal polyphony (independence of the arms), beginnings and endings of individual voices in double voice (bicinia). Clocking crowns. Recitative method of conducting, agogics. Movement expression of measures as a whole. Ligatures and held notes. Included are vocal exercises and models of ascending and descending singing and playing scores. Basic time signatures in medium tempo, in legato and staccato execution, alternation of bars, basic time signatures of compound bars. The opening and closing gesture of incomplete bars. Split gesture, merged gesture, tempo changes. Staccato and legato gesture.

Rehearsing compositions with the choir, participation in choir concerts, festivals and competitions organized by the department and other institutions, regular consultations with the teacher.
